Aims and Scope
Thank you for choosing to submit your manuscript to Derna University Journal of Applied Sciences (DUJAS). DUJAS is the official journal of Derna University, Libya. The journal is dedicated to publish original research articles (and occasional invited reviews) in the fields of engineering and applied sciences.
Authors are advised to follow the templates and instructions to prepare the articles. These instructions will ensure that the submitted manuscript can move through peer review, production and publication smoothly. Please take the time to read and follow them as closely as possible, as doing so will ensure your paper matches the journal’s requirements.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
All articles published in DUJAS are open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication. There are no submission fees, publication fees or page charges for this journal. The main goal of DUJAS is to provide high quality of global researchers with a free publishing platform.
Language
The submitted articles in DUJAS should be written in Arabic or English. (American or British usage is accepted). Professional language help may be required to make sure that the manuscript can move smoothly through peer review and publication process.
Structure of Original Articles
The structure of original article submitted to the journal should include the following sections:
Title
The title should be concise, informative, descriptive and as brief as possible. It should include key terms, to help make it more discoverable in search engines. Please do not use abbreviations and symbols to avoid confusing the reader.
Keywords
Four to sex keywords relevant to the research study are required to be submitted with the manuscript. Keywords are used to index the article after publishing and help to make it more discoverable. Hence some care should be taken to choose right keywords. Effective keywords include abbreviations or phrases that may not appear in the title or abstract and that link the work to wider field of research.
Abstract
The abstract is an important part and must provide a short summary of the article. It gives a main objective of the study, methodology used, main results and conclusion. The abstract should include key terms to increase search engine discoverability. Because the abstract sometimes stand alone, the abstract should be complete in itself; it should not contain undefined abbreviations, table numbers, figure numbers, literature citations or equations. It should be normally less than 300 words. The authors who submitted manuscript with an abstract longer than 300 words, may asked to re-write and reduce the abstract.
Introduction
The introduction is expected to include the objectives of the study, a summary of the existing literature and why this study was necessary. A good introduction should make a success to link the current research with previous studies and citing relevant references.
Method
This section should contain all elements necessary to make the research reproducible. It should provide sufficient experiment details, simulation, statistical test or analysis carried out to generate the results, such that the method can be repeated by another researcher and the results reproduced.
Results and Discussion
The results section should report the main findings and outcomes of the study clearly. Tables and figures should be used to improve data presentation and the significant of the study. The discussion should explain the significance of the results and compare them with previous work using relevant references. Extensive citations and discussion of published literature should be avoided.
Conclusion
Conclusion section should be used to highlight the main conclusion and the novelty of the work. Pleas avoid discussion and literature citation in this section. This section also can suggest future scope of the study and provide pointers to further improvement.
Acknowledgements
The section should provide a specific acknowledgment for specific persons, institution, funds or projects. If it's a project or fund, the project/funding number should be provided.
References
This section should be used to list all relevant work. Reference citations in the text must be numbered consecutively by Arabic numerals (e.g. [1]). Some examples:
The primarily use of metal coating to enhance the corrosion and wear resistance of the steel surface [1,2].
This result has been widely reported [7–9].
The list of references should only include references that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. All references are numbered in order of their appearance in the manuscript.
